The latest nude celebrity photo to surface of Vanessa Hudgens is Disney’s equivalent to “the shot heard around the world.”

High School Musical 2, the show that Hudgens stars in, broke a cable record for its premiere. USA Today even went as far as to say that Disney had finally cracked into the big leagues for producing top level programming. Riding off of this success, High School Musical 3 was on the table with a big screen release planned. Now, only Disney knows.
Late last night, numerous websites posted the picture of Vanessa without any blurring out. This allowed the entire world (probably minus China due to censorship), to see the star of the family friendly High School Musical showing off her goods. You can just picture the scene at Disney headquarters last night. It must have looked like an airfield during WW II scrambling to air raid sirens. I wouldn’t be surprised if there are reports of a few cubicles being knocked down.

Whether or not this picture will have a long-term effect on Disney is yet to be determined. The only ball that’s still up in the air is how good Disney’s PR department is at damage control. As far as the Internet goes, they have already made real progress in getting the picture removed from almost every single website that it was posted on.

The lights dim, and that's when the screaming starts. Thousands of preteen girls watch excitedly as a cage of video screens descends from the ceiling playing a silhouette of Disney star Hannah Montana.

When it lands, the blond superstar emerges in a sparkling silver dress and high boots, and the screaming gets even louder. That's when a man offers me $20 for two sets of earplugs, which I just give him for free. I'm sure it's the only thing he didn't pay for all night.

On the hit TV show that shares her character's name, 14-year-old Miley Cyrus (daughter of "Achy-Breaky" country star Billy Ray Cyrus) plays a brown-haired high school student named Miley Stewart who is secretly the blond-haired pop sensation Montana.

The premise of the show is reflected in many of the Montana songs, like the opening number "Rock Star" in which she sings about how she's a strong but shy girl who "might even be a rock star."

Cyrus plays her Montana persona perfectly. She owns the stage, and moves from one song to the next without a stutter or stumble. At 14, she has a stage presence that many performers two or three times her age don't.

When all else fails she strikes her rock-star pose by locking one knee, bending forward at the waist, looking out to the crowd and thrusting her right hand in the air, palm up, making a "gimme more applause" gesture.

The Jonas Brothers, a trio of up-and-coming rock stars that also is being groomed by the Disney machine, opened the show. They have guest-starred on "Hannah Montana" and have their own show in the works for the Disney Channel.

Dressed in garage rock outfits, they strut around the stage spouting rock star clichés. "Hey Seattle," they shouted, "where are my ladies at?" Their songs are harmless pop-rock, both enthusiastic and insincere, and the boys play their rock-star roles with deadly seriousness. It's quite funny, actually.

To close the show, Cyrus rises up on a platform at the end of the runway wearing a leather vest over a white shirt, a wide belt and bedazzled black leggings with white boots. A fake wind blows through her hair.

As the other half of the Best of Both Worlds Tour, Cyrus feels more like a persona than Hannah Montana. The songs are more guitar-driven, the outfits more adult, and the lyrics imply a string of bad boyfriends -- but it feels like imaginary drama taken from high school poetry, as if she's pretending to be older than she is. Only her country-influenced song, "I Miss You," dedicated to her dead grandfather, has a level of sincerity missing from the rest of the set.

By the end of the concert, the kids in the audience seemed tired. It wasn't until they got outside that they got all excited again, flaunting their $30 Hannah Montana shirts, their $20 programs, their $15 laminates, and $10 wristbands.

The Walt Disney Co. has poured $1.7 million into a campaign to fight housing near its theme parks, eight months before the issue is due to hit the ballot box.

Its latest campaign finance statement, which was due Wednesday, shows how much money is going into campaigns for two ballot measures meant to deter housing in the Anaheim Resort area – in particular, developer SunCal's plan to build 1,500 homes across from Disney property. The measures are set for the June 3 ballot.

The statement from the SunCal-funded group, called the Committee to Defend and Protect Anaheim, didn't show up at the City Clerk's office by 5 p.m. Wednesday. The group sent its statement by FedEx on Wednesday, said Frank Elfend, a SunCal consultant. Two other committee representatives said they didn't know why the document wasn't in.

As of the July 31 filing, the committee had about $402,000 to combat the measures.

Except for a few small donations, Disney has bankrolled the campaign by the Save Our Anaheim Resort group, putting in $131,250 between July 1 and Sept. 30. One other $100 donation to SOAR came in during that time.

"I don't think it's early. It's been a continuous issue that has been going on for months. Each month that goes by, the costs continue to rise and it's important for the coalition to have enough funds," said Todd Ament, SOAR co-chairman.

The bulk of the money appeared in the previous statement, which covered the time when most signatures were collected for two ballot measures: a referendum to overturn residential zoning in the resort area and an initiative that would require voter approval of housing there.

The statements came due just about a week after SunCal sued the owner of the property to be used for the housing.

During his two years at Six Flags, Brown served as Vice President of Ticket Strategy and Sales, where he successfully grew e-commerce revenue by more than 60%, oversaw the Group Sales division and developed the company's admission pricing strategies.

Oscar-winner Rachel Weisz will live "every little girl's dream" when she appears as Snow White in a series of new images for Disney.

The 36-year-old British star of The Mummy and About A Boy is seen in Snow White's famous hairband and dress in a portrait shot by celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz.

The images for Disney's Year of a Million Dreams celebration, which has been extended to the end of next year, also see Dame Julie Andrews posing as the Blue Fairy from Pinocchio and men's world tennis number one Roger Federer as King Arthur.

They come after David Beckham portrayed the dragon-slaying horse-riding Prince Phillip for Disney earlier this year, along with Beyonce Knowles as Alice In Wonderland and Scarlett Johansson as Cinderella.

Weisz, who is seen with a blue and white bird resting on her hand while she befriends animals in a forest, said: "I'm a woman now, but it doesn't matter what age your are, I think you always want to be Snow White.

"It is every little girl's dream. And to be photographed by Annie, one of the great living artists, is really an amazing collaboration."

Ms Leibovitz said: "She was so Snow White. Rachel Weisz was just a perfect Snow White. When you work with this calibre of actor, it takes just a few seconds, a few minutes, to do these pictures."

Dame Julie, who has a long-standing relationship with Disney and played Mary Poppins in 1964, said of her photograph: "It's a symbolic photograph of all the wonderful Disney images."

Federer, 26, is also seen with his sword drawn posing on a rock as the gallant King Arthur in an image set against a background shot at Tintagel Castle in Cornwall.

Federer, who is pictured with his red cape flowing beside a rolling sea, said: "I did feel strong on that rock. I'm higher than everybody. I got the sword. I got the armour. It felt very funny and good actually."

The Swiss-born tennis world's top player has drawn his sword from a rock - a gallant King Arthur - in a snap taken by celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz.

The shot is one for Disney's Year of a Million Dreams promotion.

The series also features Oscar-winning UK actress Rachel Weisz living "every little girl's dream" as Snow White and Dame Julie Andrews posing as the Blue Fairy from Pinocchio.

And earlier this year David Beckham portrayed the dragon-slaying Prince Phillip, Destiny's Child singer Beyonce Knowles played Alice from Alice in Wonderland and actress Scarlett Johansson dressed as Cinderella.
